Álvaro Domingues (1959) is a geographer, PhD in Human Geography by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP), Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) at master's and doctorate degrees levels. Member of the Scientific Council of FAUP 2012-2018. Researcher at the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU - FAUP). Professor of the Master Degree “Projecto do Ambiente Urbano” (FAUP/FEUP). Professor of the Doctoral Programme “Architecture of Contemporary Metropolitan Territories” of ISCTE, and also Professor of the PhD Programmes of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, Coimbra and Minho.
As a researcher at CEAU-FAUP, he has been developing projects with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with the CCDR - N and CCDR - C , with the Xunta of Galicia, with the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Coruña, with Erasmus University of Rotterdam-EURICUR, with Club Ville Aménagement – Paris; with CCCB, Barcelona, with the Barcelona School of Architecture, with the University of Granada, with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL-ENAC; with the Federal University of S. Paulo and Rio de Janeiro; with the municipalities of Guimarães and Porto, with the Portuguese Association of Architects, with the Youth Foundation, among others institutions.
